ATV and Quad Suspension Service
A quad takes a beating. It’s heavy, it hits ruts and rocks with all four wheels, and its shocks work hard in dust, mud and water. Worn shocks make an ATV harsh, unstable and tiring to ride.
266 Suspension services ATV and quad suspension at our workshop in Bonaero Park, Kempton Park, with the same careful, clean workshop approach we use on motorcycles. George Wright has 10 years of experience in suspension fine-tuning.

Signs your ATV shocks need a service
- Oil on the shock bodies or springs
- The quad bounces, wallows or feels like a pogo stick over bumps
- It bottoms out easily, especially with a passenger or a load
- The quad leans more in corners or feels unstable
- The clickers (if fitted) don’t change anything
- You can’t remember when the shocks were last serviced
Why service ATV shocks?
ATV shocks live a hard life close to the ground, in the dirt and water thrown up by the wheels. The oil breaks down with heat and gets contaminated by dirt and worn-part particles, which wears the seals and expensive internal parts. Regular servicing keeps the damping consistent and helps avoid bigger repair bills later.
What we do
- Remove and refit the shocks if you bring the quad in
- Strip, clean and inspect each shock
- Rebuild with fresh oil, replacing worn parts where needed
- Check spring rates and ride height for your weight and riding
- Re-valving and setup to suit how and where you ride
- General repairs while it’s in, so the quad goes home sorted
Clean quads only, please. Wash your ATV or shocks before bringing them in, or we’ll clean them first. Dirt and suspension internals don’t mix.

Do you work on my quad?
WhatsApp us your quad’s make, model and year, and the make of shocks if you know it, and we’ll confirm.
Can I bring just the shocks in?
Yes. Bring the shocks in off the quad, or bring the whole quad and we’ll remove and refit them.
How often should ATV shocks be serviced?
It depends on how hard and how often you ride. If they’re leaking, bouncing or bottoming out, they’re due. WhatsApp us and we’ll advise for your riding.
