Mountain Bike Suspension Service
We come into work on a Monday already dreaming about next weekend’s singletrack, so we know how much a sticky fork or a dead shock spoils a ride. Mountain bike suspension is precise, lightweight and works hard in our dusty Highveld conditions. It needs regular care to stay smooth.
266 Suspension services mountain bike forks and rear shocks, from RockShox and similar brands, at our workshop in Bonaero Park, Kempton Park.

Signs your MTB suspension needs a service
- The fork or shock feels sticky or notchy at the top of its travel
- Oil or grime on the stanchions or around the seals
- Air pressure keeps dropping
- Squelching, knocking or clunking noises
- The rebound or lockout adjusters don’t do much any more
- The fork or shock doesn’t use its travel properly, or bottoms out harshly
- You can’t remember when it was last serviced
Why service MTB suspension?
Dust and grit get past the seals, and the oil and grease inside break down over time. That makes the suspension feel sticky and wears the stanchions, seals and dampers. A regular service keeps your fork and shock feeling smooth and helps you avoid more expensive repairs later.
What we do
- Strip, clean and inspect your fork or rear shock
- Rebuild with fresh oil and grease, replacing worn parts where needed
- Set air pressure and sag for your weight and riding
- Give you starting rebound and compression settings, and explain them
The work depends on your fork or shock and what it needs. WhatsApp us the model and we’ll tell you what we recommend.
Clean bikes only, please. Wash your bike, fork or shock before bringing it in, or we’ll clean it first, so grit stays out of the internals.
Brands we work on
- Suspension: RockShox, Fox and similar brands. WhatsApp us your fork or shock model and we’ll confirm.
- Riding: cross-country, trail and enduro mountain bikes
